In cave diving redundancy is key. We are reliant o

In cave diving redundancy is key.
We are reliant on our equipment to keep us alive. We have protocols if we lose visibility but life is easier and safer if you can see.
It is a standard drill to carry at least 3 torches.
-A main
-A backup
-A second backup

But on very long dives, sometimes spending days underground/underwater, you decide extra redundancy is prudent is damage or battery life may be an issue.
Or, as in this case, I have different torches for different reasons.
-2 spotlights for long range
-2 wide angle filming lights to help capture footage
-the headtorch for when I exit the water and begin dry caving, having removed the other 4 heavy torches.

Too much equipment can cause as many issues as too little in cave diving so everything we carry has to be justified.

We were running some civilian HALO jumps from 25,000 feet and one of the jumpers asked if I’d jump with him to capture some photos and footage of him.

Well, since I had to jump anyway and my work was done I climbed out and filmed his exit and 2 minutes of freefall.
.
He wore a 360 camera and gave me the footage so I managed to get some footage of me climbing out early 5 miles up.
